펠로시 바늘 북한 지도자와의 회담 붕괴 이후 트럼프

49 낸시 펠로시 하원 의장은 북한 지도자가 비핵화를 심각하게 생각하지 않는다는 것을 인정하기까지 오랫동안 그를 붙잡아서는 안된다고 제안하면서, 김정은과의 회담이 붕괴 된 후 목요일에 트럼프 대통령을 바느질했다.  펠로시 기자는 주례 기자 회견에서 "김정은이 수준에 있지 않다는 것을 깨닫는 데 두 차례 만났던 것 같다"고 말했다.

 양국 정상과 대표단은 예정된 점심 식사를 위해 앉아 있거나 예정된 서명식에 참석하지 않고 베트남 수도에 회의 장소를 떠나는 등 경제 제재에 대한 의견 차이로 예기치 않게 무너졌다.  펠로시는 또한 하노이에서 열린 기자 회견에서 트럼프를 비판했다. 
트럼프 대변인은 자신의 상황을 알면 미국 대학생 오토 와임 비 (Otto Warmbier)를 그렇게 가난하게 대우하지 않았을 것이라는 김 대통령의 말을 인용했다. 웜비어의 가족은 북한에 수감되어있는 동안 잔인하게 고문 당했고, 혼수 상태로 미국에 귀국 한 후 2017 년에 사망했다고 전한다.  펠로시 (Pelosi)는 트럼프가 김과 같은 "범인"을 기꺼이 믿는 것은 "잘못"이라고 말했다.
 부시 대통령은 블라디미르 푸틴 러시아 대통령이 미국 정보 당국자들에게 반대의 결론을 내렸음에도 불구하고 2016 년 미국 대통령 선거를 간섭하지 않는다고 주장하는 트럼프의 태도를 인용했다.  [ '그가 알지 못한다고 말해 줬어. 트럼프는 오토 웜비어의 죽음에 대해 김정은을 변호한다.]
 펠로시는 트럼프가 너무 많은 득세를 한 김씨와 계약을 맺지 않았다고 고맙다고 말했다. "대통령이 아무 것도주지 않았다는 것이 좋다"고 그녀는 말했다.
 찰스 E. 슈머 (Charles E. Schumer, D-N.Y.) 상원 원내 총무 대표도 목요일 방의 연설에서 비슷한 지적을했다.  슈머 대통령은 "대통령이 북한의 포괄적 인 협상 타결을 인정하는 것을 기쁘게 생각한다"고 말했다. "트럼프 회장은 사진 찍기를 위해 가난한 거래를하지 않고 멀리 걸어서 올바른 것을했습니다.
"  슈머 전 장관은 특히 트럼프 장관이 "특히 대통령에게 다른 압력을 가할 때"큰 타격을 입을 가능성에 우려하고 있다고 말했다.  
한편 공화당 상원 다수당 원내 대표 인 미치 맥코넬 (Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.)은 작년 싱가포르의 트럼프 (Trump)와 김 (Kim)이 만난 첫 번째 회의에서 하노이에서 열린 2 일간의 정상 회담에서 트럼프가 어떻게 대처했는지 칭찬 할 만하다.
 맥코넬 대변인은 "김정일 위원장을 싱가포르와 베트남에 데려 와서 북한 대표단에 새로운 길을 선택하면 가능할 수있는 경제적 번영을 누리게하는 것이 현명했다"고 말했다. 고위급 외교는 높은 수준의 위험을 초래할 수 있지만, 비핵화에 대한 진전이 불투명하다는 점이 분명 해지자 대통령이 떠난 것에 대해 칭찬 받아야 할 것 "이라고 말했다.  
트럼프는 하원 공화당 지도자들로부터 칭찬을 받았다.
 케빈 맥카시 (Kevin McCarthy) 하원 원내 총무는 성명서를 통해 "트럼프 회장은이 행정부가 이룩한 엄청난 진전을 훼손시킬 수있는 얕고 잠재적으로 위험한 거래에서 벗어나기가 옳았다"고 말했다. "김정은이 자신의 나라에 대한 기회를 존중하고 자신의 입장을 재검토해야한다면 대통령은 미국과 북한 주민뿐만 아니라 세계에 혜택을주는 협상을 재개하고 준비 할 준비가되어있다"고 말했다
.  McCarthy는 나중의 기자 회견에서 Warmbier에 대한 Trump의 코멘트에 대해 질문 받았다.  맥카시는 김 위원장이 "친구가 아니다"면서 "북한 지도자 비핵화를위한 트럼프의 노력을지지하지만 나는이 지도자가 누구인가에 대해 오해하지 않는다"고 덧붙였다

. “The prospect for success seemed dim in light of the insincerity of Kim Jong Un.”  Trump’s meeting with Kim in Hanoi was abruptly cut short after he and Trump were unable to reach a deal to dismantle Pyongyang’s nuclear weapons.  [

Trump and Kim abruptly cut short summit after failing to reach nuclear deal]  Talks collapsed unexpectedly amid a disagreement about economic sanctions, with the two leaders and their delegations leaving their meeting site in Vietnam’s capital without sitting for a planned lunch or participating in a scheduled signing ceremony. 
 Pelosi also criticized Trump for comments in a news conference in Hanoi.
 Trump said he took Kim at his word that he wouldn’t have allowed American college student Otto Warmbier to be treated so poorly if he knew about his situation. Warmbier’s family says he was brutally tortured while imprisoned in North Korea and died in 2017 after returning to the United States in a coma. 
 Pelosi said it was “wrong” that Trump is willing to believes “thugs” like Kim. She also cited Trump’s inclination to believe Russian President Vladi­mir Putin’s contention that he did not interfere with the U.S. presidential election in 2016 despite a contrary conclusion for U.S. intelligence officials.  [‘He tells me he didn’t know’: Trump defends Kim Jong Un over death of Otto Warmbier] 
 Pelosi said she was grateful that Trump did not sign a deal with Kim that yielded too much ground. “It’s good that the president did not give him anything,” she said.  Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) made a similar point during remarks on the chamber’s floor Thursday.  “I was pleased to see the president recognize North Korea’s unwillingness to strike a comprehensive deal,” Schumer said. “President Trump did the right thing by walking away and not cutting a poor deal for the sake of a photo op.”  Schumer said he had been concerned about the possibility that Trump would strike a bad deal “especially with the other pressures on the president.”  Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), meanwhile, had nothing but praise for how Trump handled himself during the two-day summit in Hanoi, which followed a first meeting last year between Trump and Kim in Singapore.  “It was smart to bring Kim Jong Un to Singapore and Vietnam, to expose the North Korean delegation to the kind of economic prosperity that could be possible if he chooses a new path,” McConnell said on the Senate floor. “High-level diplomacy can carry high-level risks, but the president is to be commended for walking away when it became clear insufficient progress had been made on denuclearization.”  Trump also drew praise from House Republican leaders.  “President Trump was right to walk away from a shallow, and potentially dangerous, deal that would have undermined the tremendous progress this Administration has made,” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said in a statement. “Should Kim Jong Un appreciate the opportunity for his country and reconsider his position, the President is prepared to reengage and make a deal that benefits not only the United States and the North Korean people, but the world.”  McCarthy was asked at a later news conference about Trump’s comments on Warmbier.  McCarthy said Kim is “not a friend,” adding that while he supports Trump’s efforts to denuclearize North Korea, “I do not have a misbelief of who this leader
