Nature와 Science에 실린 진화 심리학자들의 글 몇 편

진화 심리학을 또라이들이나 하는 사이비과학쯤으로 아는 사람들이 꽤 있다.

그런 사람들에게는 우선 세계에서 가장 잘 나가는 학술지로 꼽히는 <Nature>와 <Science>에 실린 진화 심리학자들의 글이라도 읽어 보라고 권하고 싶다. <Nature>와 <Science>가 곧 진리는 아니지만 그 학술지 편집자들은 적어도 바보는 아닌 것 같다.

아래 목록은 내가 급하게 작성한 것이다. 이 두 학술지에 실린 진화 심리학자들의 글이 이것들 말고도 꽤 많이 있을 것 같다.

사이비과학자들이 권위를 어느 정도 있는 받은 학술지에 이렇게 많은 논문을 싣는 것을 본 적이 있는가?

어설프게 번역된 진화 심리학 입문서 몇 권 읽고, 또는 그 정도도 읽어보지 않고 진화 심리학이 개판이라고 쉽게 판단 내리는 사람들을 나는 도통 이해할 수가 없다. 요즘 학계에서 진화 심리학이 어떤 대접을 받는지 전혀 모르는 사람들이 “진화 심리학은 개판이다”라는 결론을 확신에 차서 떠드는 꼴을 보면 정말 웃긴다.

진화 심리학에 대해 한 마디라도 하려면 SCI 등재 저널에 실린 진화 심리학 논문 10편이라도 읽어 봐야 하지 않을까? 사실 100편은 읽어야 진화 심리학에 대해 제대로 감을 잡을 수 있겠지만 말이다.

아니면 핸드북이라도 몇 권 읽어보든가...
