4.During the War of Betony, the Bretons in the Isle of Craghold were under siege for several days. After the island was liberated, Lord Bridwell found the ruins of the castle where a crowd of survivors were hidden away in the dark. It was going to be a difficult job freeing them, as part of the roof had collapsed trapping them all within. Bridwell stuck his head in the only opening and shouted to the Bretons below: "Are there any expectant mothers down there?"

"It's hard to say, your Lordship," said a young woman. "We've only been down here for a few days."

The war was caused when Lord Mogref of Betony asked King Lysandus of Daggerfall for protection against pirates and other brigands. King Camaron of Sentinel and his advisors, citing an old contract that suggested Betony was a holding of their kingdom, declared war. Hostilities ended after Lysandus' son, Gothryd, who became king after his father was killed in battle atCryngaine Field, won the` battle and defeated Camaron in single combat. Sentinel surrendered and Betony passed under the control of Daggerfall.

Betony 전쟁은 3시대 402년에서 403년 사이에 벌어진 전쟁으로, 대거폴의 군주였던 Lysandus 왕에게 Betony 지방의 영주 Mogref 가 해적들과 약탈자들을 단속해 주시옵서서 부탁을 하여 발발하였다. 센티넬(레드가드로 이루어진 해적단)의 지배자 Carmaron과 조언자들은 Betony가 그들의 영토라고 주장하며 전쟁을 벌였다. 전쟁은 Lysandus 왕이 Cryngaine 평야 전투에서 사망한 이후, 그의 아들 Gothryd가 Camaron을 무찌름으로써 한 번에 종결지었다. (그 동안 싸워왔던 것 치고 지나치게 허무하죠)

센티넬은 항복하였고, Betony 는 다시 대거폴의 지배하에 놓였다.
