안녕하세요 [밀게부흥기원]을 쓰던 단풍잎입니다. 닉을 이야기 하는건 제가 방금 "곰돌슨"으로 닉네임 변경을 했기 때문인데요, 이 글에 캡쳐해온 사진들에 나오는 제 구글 닉네임이 곰돌슨이기도 합니다.
우리 전통 무기 화차.(제가 화차글을 많이 쓰는게 느껴지신다면 착각이 아닙니다. 제가 화차 덕후입니다. 근데 국내자료가 너무 업성ㅠㅠ)
한국은 몰라도 화차는 알거나, 화차를 통해 한국을 접하게 되는 사람도 있을 정도로 세계 밀리터리계와 게임계에서 Hwacha는 그 기합을 넣는듯한 어감만큼이나 강력한 이름입니다.(외국인들이 종종 화챠~!하고 읽고선 진짜 이렇게 읽는게 맞냐고 물어들봅니다ㅋ)
그 인지도는 어쩌면 터틀쉽, 거북선보다 더할지도 모르죠.
그런데 여기에 훼방놓는 중국인들이 웹상에 자주 등장합니다. 로켓이 중국발명이기 때문에 화차는 짝퉁 카피본일 뿐이라는거죠. 중국이 로켓의 발명지인것도 맞고 다련장화의 개념도 중국에서 먼저 나온것은 맞지만 그점이 화차의 독창성에 대해 제기할 수 있는 의문은 발톱만큼도 제공해주지는 못합니다. 중국의 다련장로켓발사기에서 차용한것은 극히 일부에 불과하고 핵심적인 가치들이 따로 존재하는 발명이기 때문이죠.
조금 과장하자면 콕핏에 터치스크린이 있다고 해서 NASA의 우주왕복선이 iPad의 짝퉁이 아닌것처럼 말입니다.

그런데 이 자민족중심주의에 빠진 중국 국뽕들은 있지도 않은 사료들을 조작해 가져오기까지 하며 중국의 발명이 더 먼저에 있었다거나 해가며 화차를 폄하하죠.
정말 웃기는 짬뽕 국뽕들입니다.
하지만 이 주제에 있어 세계인은 대체로 우리편입니다. 무논리를 펴는 일부 중국인들에겐 비판적인 목소리를 내며 한국측을 옹호해주죠. 하지만 그들의 비논리는 여전하고, 또 한국인을 포함한 세계의 화차 팬들도 모르는 사실들이 많기 때문에 한번 정리해보고자 하고 YouTube에 장문의 댓글을 작성하게 되었습니다.
해당 영상입니다. 영상 자체는 꽤나 흥미롭습니다. 등장 배경부터 일찍이 있었던 중국의 로켓발명과 중국의 다련장 로켓발사기들에 대한 내용도 포함합니다. 저도 대충 훑어보고 댓글들을 보다가 글을 쓰게 된거라 정독(?)하지는 않았지만 한번 원본 다큐멘터리까지 찾아서 봐볼 생각입니다. 여러분도 한번 봐보세요. 영어가 어려워도 영상만으로 대충 이해가 될만하게 구성한 히스토리채널 다큐멘터리입니다.

Many people, especially Chinese people tend to forget about this fact, "the main idea of Hwacha is MODULARIZATION"
많은사람들이 자꾸 까먹는 사실이 있는데 "화차의 핵심은 모듈화"라는거다.
The second rocket launcher on the video, Hwacha which is Korean weapon, is not noticed by historians and military technicians because of its multiple rocket launching concept. The superiority of this weapon above all the gun-powder-based-weapons that time comes from its MODULARIZATION.
영상에 두번째로 등장하는 로켓발사기 화차는 한국 무기인데, 화차가 역사학자들이나 무기기술자들에게 주목받는 이유는 다련장 로켓발사기이기 때문이 아니다. 화차의 당대 화약무기들에대한 우월성은 "모듈화"라는 점에서 온다.
De Vinci's Organ Gun also fires multiple shots of bullets, but it is not called a machine gun. Hwacha also shares a concept of "firing multiple rockets from a single firing platform", but it owns bunch of other distinctiveness that gives it a title of "new, own invention of Korea". (In fact, the concept of multiple rocket launcher is a tiny bit of the invention of Hwacha. So calling it a copy of Chinese invention is like calling a space shuttle a copy of a tablet PC since it has bunch of touch screens on the cockpit.)

1. Chines one is for direct fire. It was designed as a close distance support firearm just like machine guns in this century. Hwacha however is a high-angle firing platform that is used as "Artillery" concept. It was used to provide firepower at a certain coordinate by barrage fire&cross fire. The military textbook suggests to always use more than two Hwachas at a time to create a barrage using crossfire.

2. A proof that Hwacha was an artillery, not an close support firearm, and that Koreans were well studied about ballistics is that Hwacha forms 43 DEGREE MAX, not 45 degree. In real world, the maximum range angle of a projectile is 2 degrees less than 45 degree. Also there is a tangent angle adjusting device included on Hwacha depending on distances you want to shoot. So, Proved.
화차가 근접지원화기가아닌 포병전력으로 사용되었고 한국인(조선인)이 탄도학을 잘 이해하고 있었다는 증거는 화차가 45도가 아닌 43도 최대발사각을 만든다는거다. 현실에선 비행체의 최대사거리각은 45도에서 2도가 적다. 또 화차에는 쏘려는 거리별 각도조절에 쓰이는 탄젠트장비가 있다. 증ㅋ명ㅋ
3. MOST IMPORTANTLY, Hwacha is a MODULARIZED weapon. What is a modularization? Each distinctive parts of a weapon that does each role is called a module. If you design a weapon like a LEGO, then you'll be able to simple-swap a module instead of disassembling the whole weapon and assembling all over again. By changing a module, you can convert a weapon type or you can repair the weapon. For example, brand new assault rifles in 21th century is modularized so that you can convert from carbine and sniping rifle back and forth by simply detaching and inserting different firing block module like barrel, bolt.etc Hwacha is also Modularized. This is pretty impressive to see such characteristic in a medieval weapon. Explanations will follow.
제일 중요하게, 화차는 모듈화된 무기다. 모듈화가 뭔가? 무기의 각 역할을 하는 구별되는 덩어리들을 모듈이라고 한다. 무기를 레고처럼 만든다면, 분해해 늘어놓고 다시 조립하는 일 없이 단순히 바꾸어 끼우는것으로 모듈교체가 가능하다. 모듈을 바꾸어 끼움으로써 무기의 타입을 전환하거나 무기를 수리하는것이 가능하다. 예를 들면 21세기의 최신형 돌격소총들은 총열이나 볼트같은 발사계통모듈만 간단히 갈아끼움으로써 카빈, 저격총등으로 간편하게 전환할 수 있도록 모듈화를 이루었다. 화차도 이 모듈화가 되어있다. 중세시대 무기에서 이런 특성을 본다는건 놀랍다.

3-1. The box module on the top of the Hwacha cart is detachable. You can reload by putting on a new box and start shooting another hundreds of rockets. No need to empty every holes on the box and manually reload each rockets all over again. You know, just like a modern rifles which reloads simply by inserting a new magazine.
화차 위에 보이는 상자 모듈은 탈부착가능하다. 새 상자를 끼우고 또 수박발을 쏴재낄 수 있다. 각 구멍을 비우고 일일이 새 로켓들을 끼워넣어줄 필요가 없는거다. 왜 그, 새 탄창만 끼워 넣으면 되는 현대 소총들처럼.

3-2. There are 3 types of the the magazine box modules. First is 소신기전기 which fires 200 of 소신기전s non-explosive rocket arrows. Second is 중신기전기 which fires 50 of 중신기전s EXPLOSIVE rocket arrows which are much larger, heavier and longer. Last is 총통기 which contains 50 hand cannons(사전총통) lined up. Each guns fires spreading shotshells or mini AP steel arrows.
그 탄창 상자 모듈에는 3가지 종류가 있다.
첫째는 200발의 비폭발성 로켓화살인 소신기전을 발사하는 소신기전기.
둘째는 50발의 더 크고 길고 무거운 폭발성 로켓화살인 중신기전을 발사하는 중신기전기.
그리고 마지막은 50정의 핸드캐논(사전총통)이 나열된 총통기다. 각 총통은 산탄이나 철갑 화살들을 발사한다.
You can RELOAD and also CONVERT BTW Arrow barrage creator, Barrage Rocket artillery, and Automatic heavy shotgun Types simply by mounting different types of magazine module. Just like Siege tanks in video game Starcraft.
단순히 다른 종류의 탄창 모듈을 얹는것으로 화살탄막제조기, 화망로켓포, 자동중산탄총의 타입들로 전환이 가능하고 재장전도 할 수 있다. 게임 스타크래프트의 시즈탱크처럼 말이지.

3-3. There are also many additional modules like additional armour, side guns, flags, spears for defense purpose etc. By attaching such modules, Hwacha is converted from a SPG, a rocket artillery, a close support, an armoured vehicle, and even a barricade.
이외에도 추가 장갑판이나 측면 총통, 깃발, 방어용 장창등의 여러가지 추가 모듈들이 존재한다. 해당 모듈들을 탈부착함으로써 화차는 자주포, 로켓포병, 근접지원화기, 장갑차량, 바리케이트등으로 변신한다.
Think why MG 42 became the greatest machine gun in the history. It in fact adopted the concept of General Purpose Machine Gun to the world. A weapon that can function as many roles using modularization is a very modern and smart concept. Hwacha made this come true in the medieval era.
MG 42가 왜 역사상 최고의 기관총이 되었는지 생각해봐라. MG 42는 사실상 최초로 세계에 "다목적"기관총의 개념을 도입, 보편화시켰다. 모듈화를 통해 여러 역할을 맡아 기능하는 무기라는것은 굉장히 현대적이고 스마트한 개념인것이다. 화차는 이걸 중세시대에 해냈다.

4. There are also many different types of Hwachas that are developed about a century after the first developments(the ones I explained above). These are developed around the time when Japan invaded Korea. These are developed based on the original Hwacha, so if it was in the US, it would had been called HwachaA1 or HwachaA2 whatever. Just to give you the idea.
위에서 설명한 화차로부터 약 한세기 후 개발된 수많은 종류의 또 다른 화차들이 존재한다. 일본이 한국(조선)을 침공할 무렵 개발된것들인데, 기존 화차를 베이스로 개발된 것들이다. 때문에 미국이었다면 화차A1나 화차A2등등 정도가 되었겠지. 말을 하자면 말이야.
4-1. 변이중Hwacha is armoured Hwacha that fires guns every direction. It assaults into enemy formation and fires guns towards every direction where enemies now are(Because it is in the middle of the enemies now).
변이중 화차는 장갑을 두르고 사방으로 총을 쏘는 화차다. 적 대형한가운데로 돌격해서 사방(적들의 방향. 적 대형 한가운데에 와있으니까)으로 총을 갈긴다.
4-2. 융원필비Hwacha is the upgraded version of 총통기Hwacha. They mounted guns with upper size(사전총통=>승자총통), and they mounted more of them. Because they mounted more layers of the guns tall, the magazine blocks the sight, so the operators fire from the sides. That's why they also added gun shields to both sides just like AT guns or heavy machine guns during WW2.
융원필비화차는 총통기화차의 업그레이더 버젼 정도로 볼 수 있다. 기존의 사전총통보다 큰 승자총통을 그것도 더 다수를 올렸다. 총통을 많이 올렸기 때문에 발사시야를 가려서 사수들은 화차 양 측면에서 화차를 발사한다. 때문에 2차대전기 대전차포나 중기관총들 처럼 포방패를 장착했다.
4-3. 신경준Hwacha is a TURRETED(!!) armoured vehicle. There is a simple turret on the top the fires cannon any direction the operator wants to shoot, and he can reload the gun INSIDE the vehicle. The vehicle is also armoured, so this is a turreted SPG since operators can do everything inside the vehicle, and the vehicle contains everything needed for the cannon.
The concept of main turret on the top of an armed vehicle doesn't appears in western world until 20th century, and that was not universalized until after early WW2 where many countries still stuck with side guns or multiple turrets that are not efficient. Now, see what century this 신경준Hwacha was developed.
신경준화차는 포탑식(!!) 장갑차량이다. 상부에 회전포탑으로 원하는 방향으로 포를 쏠 수 있고, 차내에서 재장전이 가능하다. 장갑화되어있고 모든 조작이 차내에서 가능하며 차내에 운용에 필요한 모든 물자가 구비되어있으므로 포탑식 자주포라고 할 수 있다.
차체상부의 1기의 주포탑을 가진 장갑차량의 개념은 서양에선 20세기까지 등장하지도 않고, 비효율적인 측면탑재포나 다포탑등의 개념에 치중하던 2차대전 초반이 지나가고 나서야 비로소 보편화되기 시작한 개념이다. 자, 이제 신경준화차가 몇세기에 개발되었는지 봐라.
So Chinese people, listen. We admit the fact that rocket is Chinese invention. Also we admit that you first brought out with the idea of piling up multiple rockets. But the idea of "what if we put multiple shots at a same time?"is not a mind blowing idea. It's a easy thought. What do you think is the reason why many first machine guns all around the world all are multiple barreled muskets?

Hwacha is a whole lot different weapon than your multiple rocket launcher in many aspects. In fact, this is a concept of convertible weapon platform that is highly modularized. It only happens to include multiple rocket launcher modules out of many functions. And among those variety of modules, even if it only had the rocket module, it's still superior than your multiple rocket launcher in every aspects like accuracy, range, firepower, reload speed, mobility of the cart. etc
화차는 너희 다연장로켓발사기와 비해 여러 측면에서 차원이 다른 무기야. 사실, 화차는 고도로 모듈화된 전환성 무기 플랫폼의 개념이다. 단지 그 기능들 중에 다연장로켓발사기능이 들어있을 뿐인거지. 게다가 그 많은 기능들이 다 없고 오로지 다연장로켓발사기일 뿐이었다고 쳐줘도 너네 작품에 비해 정확성, 사거리, 화력, 재장전, 발사대의 기동성등 모든 측면에서 우월하다.
So leave peacefully when we still respect your portion of invention. Don't even act like a child. You can't call this a copy of a fake.

No race on the earth is superior than the other, Humans are all equivalent. You are only one of many civilizations on earth that happened to be rich thanks to the location it started. And it's not even straight descendant from the original civilization, it's a chaos mixture of bunch of races. I can't understand how Chinese have racism even though themselves is not even a single race.

Open your ears and start to listen to those who are not Chinese, and realize why China is NOT "中"國. There is no center nor best in this world. And being the best doesn't return you any good either.
