A sample of 30 fish from the stock was pooled for the analysis of initial whole body composition.
Fish were individuall weighed every 4 weeks of the experimental period. At the same time, five fish
were randomly sampled from each tank and stored at -20 ˚C for posterior analyses.
Proximate composition and chemical analyses of the diets and fish whole body samples were
made in three replicates folowing standard procedures as described in preceding studies.
The total P and N loading (consedering fecal and non-fecal excretion and expressed as kg/ton
fish production) were based on P and N retention and calculated as the difference between the
amount of nutrient consumed from feeds and the amount of nutrient retained in the whole body.
Feed perfomance was evaluated on the basis of weihgt gain, growth rate, and feed gain ratio
