나는 언젠가 이 나라가  모든인간이 동등하게 만들어졌다는 자명한  진실이 신념의 진정한 의미로  깨닫고 살아갈 거라는 꿈을 갖고 있습니다.

나는 언제가 압박과 불평등의 열기로 더위에 지치게 하는 미시시피 주 조차도 자유와 평등의 오아시스로 바뀔거라는 꿈은 갖고 있습니다.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
 
나는 언제가 나의 네명의 아이들이 피부색으로 평가되지 않고 단지 그들의  인격으로 평가되는 나라에서 살수 있을 거라는 꿈을 갖고 있습니다.

I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification; one day right down in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.
 
나는 언제가 중재와 파기의 말을 계속 쏟아내며 사악한 인종차별주의가 있는 알바마에서 어린 흑인 소년 소녀가 형제애로 백인 소년 소녀와 함께 손을 맞잡을 날이 있을거라는 꿈을 갖고 있습니다.

I have a dream today!

나는 오늘 꿈을 갖고 있습니다.
I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together.
나는 언제가 모든 계곡이 높아지고 모든 언덕과 산이 낮아지며, 거친자리가 평평해지고 뒤틀린 자리가 반듯하게 만들어지는 주의 영광이 드러나 모든 만물과 함께 그것을 바라볼 날에 대한 꿈을 갖고 있습니다.
