Third, it is about the value of learning from mistakes. When I was a sophomore, I took a Liberal arts class. During this class, we were assigned a group project. Like most of students, I got stuck in thinking that I have to get a A+ in this class, so I told my group members just to follow me. However, while I was doing that, I made a few crucial mistakes due to my misunderstanding of the main point of the project. As a result, my group got a C+ on the project. My face turned so red and I really did not know what to say. Fortunately, one of our members asked our professor to give us another opportunity to make up for it. Then, we got one more chance. I totally had to admit that I made the mistakes, and I took time to incorporate my group member's opinions. As we shared our opinion, I felt more ashamed because they had better ideas than me, but we fixed the problems easier this way. Eventually, we got a B+ on the project. Through the project, I found that I was sort of obsessed with being right in whatever I did, and it was connected with a short-sighted, narrow mind, which led to misinformation and stereotypes. Obsessing to be right imposed a bad effect on my group project. Even though I pursued being right, it led to being wrong. Since the project, I do not care about being right anymore, and I am not afraid to make mistakes. I do not mind being wrong. What matters to me is that I recognize my mistakes and then I do the right thing.
