국정원 및 국가기관의 부정선거 개입으로 박근혜 정권이 위기에 몰린 가운데 열린 전 세계 해외 한인들의 부정선거 규탄 및 박근혜 사퇴 촉구 시위가 외신의 주목을 받았다.
글로벌 보이스는 21일 ‘Protesting South Korea's Election Manipulation in New York, Paris, London-뉴욕, 파리, 런던에서 대한민국 선거 조작에 대해 시위 중’이라는 제목의 사진기사로 전 세계 한인들의 시위소식을 발 빠르게 보도했다. 이 기사는 ‘가장 최근의 대통령 선거를 앞두고 대한민국 정부기관들이 벌인 여론 조작을 비난하며, 이번 주 내내 뉴욕, 파리, 런던 그리고 베를린에서 한국의 해외동포들이 촛불집회를 열었다’며 전 세계 해외동포들이 더 많은 주요 도시에서 시위를 계획하고 있다고 전했다.
해외에 거주하는 한인들은 지난 17일 메릴랜드를 시작으로 파리, 런던, 베를린, 캐나다와 미국의 뉴욕, LA, 시카고, 워싱턴 DC를 거쳐 필라델피아에서 그 장정을 마친 바 있다. 이들은 공동 성명서를 채택하여 지난 대선의 무효와 박근혜의 사퇴를 요구했다.
