여섯명의 시각장애인이 있었어요

여섯명의 시각장애인들이 코끼리를 만났습니다.

첫번째 남자는 코를 만지고는 비명을 질렀습니다, "이 촉감, 이 길이, 이 꾸물거림? 이건 뱀이다!"

두번째 남자는 코끼리의 상아에 부딪히고는 소리 쳤습니다, "이 뾰족하고 단단한것은 죽창이 분명해!"

세번째 남자는 코끼리의 등에 올라타고는 말했죠, "높구나, 단단하구나, 벽이 분명하구나."

네번째 남자는 코끼리의 귀를 만지작 거리더니 깨달음을 얻었죠. "이것은 얇고 팔랑거리네요. 제 모든 감이 말해줘요, 내 손에 있는 물건은 부채입니다."

다섯번째 남자는 코끼리의 다리에 등치기를 하면서 얘기했죠, "으아, 내 등치기 경력만 38년인데, 이건 떡갈나무다."

마지막 남자는 코끼리의 꼬리를 붙잡고 향긋함을 느끼면서 입을 열었습니다. "음 냄새는 잘 모르겠지만, 길고 얇은걸로 보아선 밧줄이 분명해요."

모두의 의견이 일치하지 않아 서로 당황했으나, 세번째 남자는 고개를 끄덕이고는 말을했죠.

"이것은 뱀같은 뭔가를 가지고 있구나. 게다가 죽창같은 뾰족함과 벽과 같은 단단함, 그리고 높이를 가지고 있지. 그뿐이랴, 부채같고, 나무같으며 조금 향긋한 밧줄로 보아, 이것은 코끼리구나."

그 말을 들은 나머지 남자들은 고개를 끄덕이고 코끼리의 모든 부위를 만져보기 시작했죠.

코끼리의 아마 모든 부위를 만져본 이들은, 의심할 여지없이 이것은 코끼리라고 하였죠.

그때 성난 닭이 날아와서 시각장애인들은 쪼으면서 소리쳤죠, "이건 나무야, 이건 나무라고!!!! 빼애애애ㅐㅇ애애ㅐㅐ액애개액개개 꼬꼬꼬꼬!"

Once, six blind men met an elephant.

First man touched the nose of the elephant and screamed, "This touch, this length and this wriggling! It's a snake!"

The second man bounced to the tusk of the elephant and shouted, "This sharp and hard thing must be a bamboo spear!"

Then the third man rode the elephant's back and said, "High and hard. Definitely a wall."

The fourth man touched elephant's ears and realized.

"It is thin and it flaps. All of my senses tell this object is a fan."

The fifth man spoke while hitting the legs of elephants with his back, "Ah, I have been hitting trees with my back for thirty eight years. Those experiences are telling me that this is an oak tree."

The last man grabbed the tail and opened his mouth while he smelled the unpleasant scent.

"Hmm... I don't know about the smell, but this long and thinness must be a rope."

All six men were confused, as they were not talking about a same object. Yet the third man nodded and said, "This thing has something like a snake. Also, it has sharpness as a bamboo spear and hard and tall as a wall. Even more, it has the characteristics of fan, tree and a rope with a scent. This is an elephant."

Other men who heard this nodded too and touched all the other parts of the elephant.

After touching every single part of the elephant, all six men agreed upon that this strange thing is an elephant.

That moment, an angry chicken jumped in screamed while pecking six blind men, "This is a tree, I said this is a treeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! BBaaaaaaaeeeeeeeek? Cock a doodle doo!"
