(아무리 Cars2 애니매이션의 배경이 일본이고, 원작에 충실했다고는 하나, 일본 군국주의의 상징이자, 진주만기습을 포함한 태평양전쟁 시 사용되었고, 특히 한국, 중국, 동남아시아 등에서 일본제국주의 침략을 통해 무수한 사람들을 죽이는데 늘 앞장세웠던 저 욱일승천기의 문양을 이렇게 버젓이 사용한다는데 경악을 금치 못하겠습니다.)
입장을 바꾸어, 독일 나치즘의 문양인 역십자가(하켄크로이츠)를 장난감에 버젓이 사용한다면 그걸 서양에선 받아들일까요?

해당 제품의 그 디자인이 한국의 비극적 역사를 떠올리게끔 하는 것에 대해 유감이다. 의도한 바는 절대 아니다. 매년 새로 출시되는 제품에 대해 덴마크(본사)에서 많은 논의를 한다. 본사에 문의해서 그들이 이 사안에 대해 설명해 줄 것을 요청하겠다. 답변을 받는대로 다시 알려주겠다

As I promised I talked to the people responsible for the product, so that I could get an official statement for you. I'm sure you will be pleased to know that based on your comments we have made a thorough investigation of the design of this particular product, because we did take your complaint seriously. As previously mentioned,I would like to assure you that we had no intention of relating the product to anything military and certainly no intention to hurt any of our customers feelings - the red streaks were designed as ornamental elements only. I'm sure that you will welcome the news that based on our investigation, we have decided to change the design of the product going forward so that new 8206 boxes will have a different design without the red streaks.
